Disappointed in the lack of lip balms that effectively treated women of color, Tye Boykins turned to her kitchen’s pantry for better solutions. What started as a personal product, soon became an attempt at breaking barriers in the lip care industry.
After pictures of Tye’s own results went viral on social media, in came a flood of people inquiring about this new balm, and how they could get their hands on the natural good stuff. And so, LynLips the lip balm company was born.

Ingredients such as Menthol, Camphor, Salicylic Acid, Benzocaine, Petroleum, Paraffins, Synthethic Wax, and Fragrances have been found harmful and ineffective in skincare. These chemicals can worsen skin dryness, cause irritation, dehydrate the skin, give allergic reactions, inflame the skin, and mask other chemicals. In one lip care study, scientists found that 75% of the tested products had contained high concentrations of lead, titanium, and aluminum.
