The Evolution of the Essential
Since its creation, the lip balm has been a universal staple for many. But for decades, brands relied on a one-size-fits-all script that ignored the unique needs of melanated skin. Despite store shelves overflowing with lip care options, there has always been a gap where safety, authenticity, and real results should be.
That’s where we come in.
LynLips wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was born in a kitchen pantry, fueled by nature’s finest ingredients and a refusal to settle for the lack of diversity in the skincare aisles. As a Black woman-founded company, the vision from the beginning has been to modernize the lip wellness market and lead the charge toward a truly inclusive future. We are a “For Us, By Us, & Including YOU” brand that specializes in clean, high-performance lip care for the communities the industry left behind.... & everyone else tired of the status quo.
We aren’t in the business of “good enough.” Consider us the originators, the healers, the movers, and the shakers!
The Table We Built
LynLips was inspired by a Black mother who was a full-time hairdresser and the undisputed queen of DIY. My mom had a gift for turning obstacles into opportunities, often tapping into her superpower of resourcefulness. Growing up, not only did I admire how she solved problems and handled business, I also admired her innovative spirit when it came to our beauty and health care. When store shelves were limited or common products failed our textures, tones, and unique concerns, she would take matters into her own hands without hesitation. She went with what she knew, mixed what she had, and single-handedly created the remedies we needed.
Taking a page out of my mother’s book, I’m determined to show the world that clean, heritage-backed recipes don't just work - they win! LynLips was formulated with a commitment to standards. No excuses. No compromises. Just better solutions, and better balm.
They say if you aren't offered a seat at the table, bring a folding chair. But actually, we’ve decided to take it a step further: We’re building our own!
